First Semi-Annual FIFA Tournament
The Southern California Trojans FC just hosted its first official FIFA tournament in the Lorenzo Media Center on Friday. It was a fun night filled with laughs, pizza, and of course, golazos. The tournament lasted over three hours, and had five simultaneous games running most of the night, meaning that the noise of goal celebrations was heard in the room at any given moment.
The itself event was small, with only a few outsiders showing up to play, but club members feel as if it hinted at positive signs for the future. “I was honestly glad at the way it turned out,” said Jonathan Montesdeoca, the club President. “I feel like it was well-run,” he said, “We had enough consoles from our generous donors, and no one was really bored. I just think we had to do a better job with marketing, to get more people to come out.” His sentiment was agreed with by club member, Qaleb Pillai: “I think that people want to play FIFA, and would be interested in this event, we just need to do a better job of informing the public.”
