First Tryouts to Kick off the Spring Season
This past Friday, the Trojans FC Men’s soccer team held their spring season tryouts on the Cromwell Field at the University of Southern California. Over 30 athletes were in attendance—all students of the University—ranging from freshman to seniors and even a few graduate students. The men gathered on the field around 4 pm to check-in and warm up. Promptly after warm ups, the team’s President, Jonathan Montesdeoca, Vice President, Pantelis Paliouras, and Co-Founder, Milad Gueramian, gathered the group to formally introduce themselves and discuss their expectations for tryouts and the upcoming spring season. They emphasized their vision for the club and the value of dedication and commitment.
After the debrief, they split the athletes up into three smaller groups to for specialized drills. As the men played hard, the Trojans FC Board observed their technique, communication skills, and overall ability. Finally, after a short water break, pinnies were distributed and the athletes were divided into two teams to play a scrimmage.
The tryouts concluded around 6pm, when the Board thanked all the players for their attendance and effort. While the Board is still closely reviewing the players, they will be holding another tryout session on Friday, February 9th, at 4pm on the Cromwell Field. The next day, Saturday, February 10th, the team and its newly recruited players will have their first game against AC Brea Select at 5:30 pm at the Brea Sports Park.
We are looking forward to a successful season for the Trojans FC Men’s Soccer Team!
